Goal # 1- Professional Development Opportunities
Fontainebleau High School shall strive to provide students, faculty and staff with the tools and training necessary to function and become competitive, competent citizens in a global community.

-Our staff, teachers and administrators will participate in professional development opportunities that will encourage users to become competent, confident users of required district-wide and school-wide software and hardware, as evidenced by all the daily use of required software. Parish Technology Personnel will provide training for staff members. 
Principal will assign personnel to attend meetings and workshops.
Administration, faculty and staff will be required to utilize parish and state mandated software in every day communication, report filing, etc. Funds for state and parish mandated software will be provided out of district funding sources. Ongoing, beginning with the 2002-2003 school year.
-Our teachers will participate in professional development opportunities that are carefully designed to develop pedagogical techniques, as well as help develop strategies to incorporate technology, while providing valuable learner-centered educational experiences, as evidenced by documented lesson plans and student portfolios.  Parish Technology Coordinator, as well as Parish Technology Trainers will develop courses based on a needs assessment.  Classes will be offered each semester based upon needs assessment.  Parish Level- Parish Registration web sites will be used as documentation of classes offered and numbers of teachers trained. 

School Level- Teacher lesson plans, student portfolios will be used to document educational experiences

Funds for parish wide technology training will be allocated from TLTC grants, parish technology training funds and state funds to provide stipends for teachers, maintenance workers and trainers.  Workshops will be offered at several local school computer labs 2002-2003-Needs Assessment will be given at the beginning of the school year. 

2003-2005- Ongoing Parish technology training will be offered by the Technology Center.

-Our school will provide the technological tools and techniques necessary to prepare students for the next level of education and/or provide the opportunity to learn the skills necessary to become competent, competitive individuals ready to enter the work force upon graduation from high school, as evidenced by school records, vocational reports, graduation reports and student portfolios. School Building Level Technology Committee will develop a yearly technology implementation and allocation guide focused on repairing, replacing and upgrading computers and other technological tools to keep up with industry changes. School Level- School Building Level Technology Committee will provide a written technology allocation plan for faculty and district review. School Level- Individual teacher grants for software and hardware will come out of a dedicated portion of the general fund. 

Parish Level- E-rate funding, local technology allotment money and state technology moneies will provide the necessary money for upgrades, repairs and replacements.

Goal # 2-
The curriculum will place students at the center of learning and since every student learns differently, a curriculum rich with a variety of purposeful experiences and activities will address different learning styles and speeds, and yet still prepare the learner for state mandated testing.

-Our faculty will develop strategies that will help align current curriculum, as well as state mandated benchmarks and standards, with technology rich learning experiences, as evidenced by individual teacher lesson plans. School Building Level Technology Committee will meet regularly with curriculum department heads to help facilitate and encourage the seamless integration of technology into the curriculum and align current standards and benchmarks with new technology rich activities. 

Parish Technology Trainers will provide classes each semester that provide the technical training necessary to implement technology usage into the classroom curriculum.

Teachers will document technology activities on lesson plans that may accessed by adminstration and Central Office staff at any time using the SIS system. Key teachers that will serve as trainers in their areas will receive an extra off period one semester per school year to meet with and help implement creative technology based curriculum advances in the classroom, as well as serve as mentor teachers for those less familair and comfortable with technology. 2002-2003- Implementation of Train the Trainer  
and curriculum/benchmarks and standards alignment strategies. 

2003-2004- 

Expansion of Train the Trainer and targeted workshops for technology integration. 

2004-2005- 

Alignment of curriculum, benchmarks and standards will be fully implemented and available. 
 
 

-Our students will be provided with a wide variety of educational experiences designed to develop the technological skills necessary to function in an increasingly technological, global community. Teachers will utilize the current technology labs to help develop student technology skills.  

Vocational Teachers will make a concerted effort to expand and research the types of technology students will encournter in the world of work.

 School records, state mandated vocational reports, teacher lesson plans and student portfolios will be used as documentation. Local funds, as well as Carl Perkins and the $50.00 per student agricultural allotment fund will be used to implement and expand technology usage in the vocational classrooms. 2002-2003-  Purchase of vocationally oriented software, such as AUTOCAD, plsama arc welders, etc. 

2003-2005 

Continued expansion of software into vocational classes, as well as the implementation of "mini-labs" in vocational classrooms.

-Teachers will provide a variety of technology rich activities and opportunities that include the use of good pedagogical techniques and are aligned with and targeted to include state mandated benchmarks and standards. State INTECH trainers will provide teachers with best pratices of integrating technology into the curriculum. 

Teacher attendance at LACUE and other professional development workshops in subject areas will also provide models for classroom technology integration.

Successful classroom technology integration will be evidenced by required teacher records, such as lesson plans, etc. 

Best practices will be modeled at state subject meetings, as well as at the local levcel by key teachers.

Stipends will be paid by INTECH for teachers who attend such courses.  

Professional development days will be provided in a limited number for key teachers to model practices at state level professional development workshops.

Goal # 3- Equality In Accessibility
 -The school will provide a learner centered curriculum that addresses diverse learning styles, as well as provide access for physically, mentally or socially disadvantaged students equitable access to technology and skill building activities, as evidenced by school records, IEP reports, and special education records.

-The students will be provided with equitable access to computers and other up to date technological tools in an atmosphere conducive to meeting the needs of varied student learning styles. School Technology Coordinator will be responsible for insuring that there is equitable access of technology resources for all students in the school. This will be evidenced by school purchase orders, school technology plans, school inventory reports and individual student and teacher records. Parish Local replacement funds of $2000.00 per year will be used to insure that all students have access to technology resoruces during school hours. Ongoing
-The school/parish commits to providing the funds necessary to provide appropriate assistive and/or adaptive technology to address the unique requirements of any students identified with special needs. St. Tammany Parish Special Education Department and Assistive Technology personnel will determine on a three year basis the needs of identified students and provide the latest technology to assist these students in classroom performance. This will be evidenced by school records, individual portfolios of the students and mandated special education records at the central office. Funds come from the special education budget of the parish.  In 2001, the parish mandated that all identified special needs students be reevaluated for assistive technology.  Three year updates are required parish wide. Goal # 4-  Students and teachers will use technology to reach out and engage community members, parents and local individuals in innovative ways that encourage community participation and interest in school matters.

Technology Coordinator- will poll faculty to determine who wants a web presence, sa well as keep the email list current and functional.  The TC will also designate a resource person, who will help teachers as they develop their web page and act as final say in web page content. 

Teachers- who wish to develop a web presence will develop web pages that allow interactivity for students who are ill, as well as provide information for parents or guardians. 

Students- will have access to web page information after school hours for enrichment and planning. 

Parents- will have access to email address of all teachers to provide instant communication

Currently school is networked and server space is adequate for teacher web page development.  

Nine new switching hubs will be purchased in Year one to make the network fully switchable
 

Parish Provided Local Funds- $12,000.00 &

 Individual teachers will be provided space on the school server for individual web pages to post important information, test schedules, homework assignments, etc.
