This Technology Plan has a timeframe of 3 years. The overall goal
is to network the whole school with the T1 line supplied by the school
board system. The plan involves increasing the number of computers in
each classroom to 4.
This plan calls for a move to a student management system
software that should be available to all faculty members in their
classrooms.
Centerville High School has NO network wiring in the classrooms.
However, it does have network wiring with access to the internet in the
administrative offices and in the library. The school does not have any
asbestos in it's building.
Currently, the school has at least one computer in each
classroom, but only half of these computers have printers. There are
three existing computer labs which are described below.
- One lab has 20 computers that are networked using peer-to-peer
networking with two shared printers for remediation to prepare students
for LEAP and GEE testing.
- One lab has 20 computers that are not networked, but have 10
switched printers total in the business department.
- One lab has 10 Macs that are currently networked with
Appletalk and one color printer.
Objective Year 1
(Total money available on
infrastructure....$64,000.00 and Multimedia lab....$44,000.00

serve at least 4 computers.
- To move the 10 printers from the Business department lab to
other classrooms throughout the school.

drop with 4 active lines that will allow at least 4 computers to
operate.

classroom to increase the number in each classroom to 2 computers.
- To update the existing 20 position computer lab in the
business department.

and possibly a third.

Printer that will serve at least 4 computers.
- To provide departments with a shared Network Printer
w/JetDirect Card.
- To provide additional infrastructure to support the network
room drops into the classrooms.
- To purchase more switches to increase the possible number of
computers in each classroom.
- To purchase updates on software.
Objective Year 3
(Total money available on
infrastructure....$62,000.00
- To complete each classroom with a minimum of 4 computers, an
inkjet printer, and access to a network printer.
- To provide departments with a shared Network Printer
