A Compass Guide for Teachers

In case you didn't already know this, there are a lot of books available for your use on the Compass Learning System. There are so many books, in fact, that it may be difficult to choose which one would serve you best. To make it easier, here is a description of the books that will make your Compass experience beneficial to you and your students!

Curriculum Manager User's Guide
This is the ultimate Compass reference book. The chapters are as follows: Chapter 1-Overview: How Compass Works; Chapter 2-Start-up: Logging In and Out; Chapter 3-Classes: Enrolling Students; Chapter 4-Columns: The Language of Compass; Chapter 5-Sequences: Working with the Courseware; Chapter 6-Sequences: Working with Assignments; Chapter 7-Scores: Viewing Student Results in Columns; Chapter 8-Reports: Printing Student Results; Chapter 9-Filtered Classes: Searching for Students. There is also a pocket version of this book!
Mathematics Teacher's Guide
This is a guide for teachers with the content and structure of the Mathematics curriculum. This guide enables teachers to quickly locate concepts and lessons to help integrate this computer-based instruction with their mathematics curriculum. Teacher will be able to review units and plan specific assignments in the way that best fits the need of individual students. There is a book like this for each Compass subject and grade level.
Writing Expedition Teacher's Guide
This is a very easy-to-understand guide on how to setup and use Writing Expedition. It includes an overview, setting up assignments, sending assignments to students, writing the assignments, evaluating and grading assignments, and using tools. There are screen captures to illustrate.
K-8 Navigator Professional Development
This book contains a checklist to track proficiencies on various K-8 procedures as well as worksheets for documenting observations about the target learning areas. This book has some nice worksheets to accompany Compass lessons.
C-PAS Language Arts K-8 Objectives & Learning Paths
This book contains charts with detailed information about Language Arts K-8 objectives and learning paths. You may use the objectives and learning paths charts to plan how much time to allow for testing sessions, to coordinate in-class instruction with computer instruction, to create customized tests, and more. There is a book like this for each Compass subject and grade level.
C-PAS Performance Assessment
This book contains an overview of C-PAS Performance Assessment, including an introduction, assessment development, assessment structure, assessment features, C-PAS assessment resources, assessment implementation, C-PAS testing, and scoring rubrics.
Integrated Language Arts Navigator
This is an integrated language arts curriculum for students from kindergarten through third grade. This book describes the lesson structure, navigation, components, technical information, and assignments.
