The Process:
First,  read Four Seasons for Little People.  Have the students look closely
at the pictures.  Have the children notice the clothing that the
children in the book are wearing.

Second, show the class the power point presentation.

Third, as a class create a tree map  categorizing the clothing pictures given.
(Click here to see an example.)

Next, the students will create a book of seasonal clothing.  Follow the directions given below.
(Click here to see an example.)

        1. Print the child (4 of them)  and clothing pages for each season
(summer and fall)   (winter and spring)   one for each child.
        2. Have the students color the child and clothing.
        3. Give each student four seperate sheets of paper.  The students will color one
seasonal background per page.  Make certain that the students have one page
for each season.  Have the students write the name of the season that was
created for each page at the top of the page.
        4. The students will cut out one child for each season. Then the students will glue
one child on each of the  season pages that were ceated.
        5. The students will then need to cut out the clothing that was colored in step 2.
Next, have the students glue the clothing on each child according to the season
that is indicated in the illustration and title of the page.  Remind the students
that the child should be dressed in the appropriate clothing for the given
            season.
        6. Then the students will use yarn to glue on each child for hair.
        7. Last, the teacher will assist each student in binding his/her work using a piece
of construction paper for the front cover and a piece for the back cover.
